ThinkSmart Appoints Former Ebay General Manager To Head Australasian Business

ThinkSmart Limited (ASX:TSM), an international computer and office equipment financing company, today announced it has appointed the former General Manager for eBay Southeast Asia, Sam McDonagh, to the position of Executive General Manager for its Australasian business.

Mr McDonagh, a nine year veteran of eBay, will be responsible for continuing to grow ThinkSmart’s existing businesses in Australia and New Zealand and will be responsible for developing new territories within Asia.  He will report directly to ThinkSmart founder and CEO, Ned Montarello.

Commenting on Mr McDonagh’s appointment, Mr Montarello said he saw significant scope for continuing to expand ThinkSmart’s products within the wider Asian market.

“Sam joins us at a pivotal time as we are building our operations in North America, and cementing our growth within Europe. 

“His experience with eBay in growing that business throughout Southeast Asia will be incredibly valuable as we look to extract further value from our Australian processing hub.”

Mr McDonagh was a founding member of the management team for eBay in Australia in 1999 prior to moving to eBay’s main campus in California in 2001 where he worked for nearly five years in a number of senior finance and marketing management roles.

Mr McDonagh is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from the University of Western Australia.
